"By the sea you forget to count the days" and that will be your experience at Napier Cottage. Considered one of the oldest homes in Southwest Harbor, Napier Cottage has been lovingly restored, enhanced and maintained over the years. Sitting on nearly an acre lot, the landscaping and gardens are a special treat. There is also a fenced in yard for children and pets to play safely. The 1st floor has a pine board kitchen with every convenience. A bay windowed dining room with seating for 8-10. French doors lead from here to a wrap around porch and a 3/4 season gazebo with ocean views. Beside the dining room is a large living room with a wood stove for rainy days and a wall bookcase filled with DVDs, VHS tapes, a big variety of books, games and puzzles.There is also an entertainment room with a TV, stereo system and a VCR and DVD player. A downstairs 1/2 bath completes the 1st floor but be on the look out for "fairies " that add a little fantasy to many rooms.
A chair lift(for those in need) and the stairs lead to the 2nd floor with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. Their warm and inviting decor promises many restful nights. With a king, a full, 2 twin and 2 bunk beds plus a crib, the rooms can comfortably sleep 6 adults 2 children and 1 infant or 8 adults if 2 will use the bunks.
All the comforts were kept in mind when furnishing this special home. Filled with antique and overstuffed furniture and oriental rugs ~ enough dishes and silverware for 12 place settings ~ plenty of linens and towels which are color co-ordinated to the bedrooms and fairies, too, what more could you want?
